Soon, juniors will be reading Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Currently, we are having classroom discussions regarding the book’s background, as well as issues related to the story. Much of the reading will be done outside of class, so expect to see this novel at home. We will be spending several weeks on this unit.

The dance at Arcadia Elementary School, scheduled for Saturday evening, February 6th, has been canceled due to a lack of interest in attendance. We hope to raise money for senior year festivities, and look for the support of our classmates in the future. Thank you to those involved in the planning and committed chaperoning of this canceled dance.

Seasons Greetings. This website is new, and will be improved in the future. For now…
Freshmen Honors students will be reading The Turn of the Screw over the break, while maintaining a reader-response journal. Students should have the novella read, and the journal completed upon returning to class January 4th.
Basic Freshmen students will be working on their essay, in which they compare/contrast two of three characters we have read about in recent months. Essays can be typed or handwritten, but must contain 5 paragraphs, and must be completed upon returning to class January 4th.
